I am a weaver and natural dyer from Crete, Greece. Many of the women in my family were engaged with textiles and I have learnt alongside them so I humbly carry a long legacy. The looms demanded that I engage with them. The first time I tried weaving my hands already knew what to do so I followed the thread. When weaving time elongates and wraps around itself through repetitive and continuous motions that demand precision and focus.

My textile work is deeply rooted in locality of materials, of practices, of understanding and relating with the craft and the creations. I am devoted to learning traditional Cretan weaving practices from the masters of the craft. Women that carry the knowledge in their hands and understanding what it meant for their lives. I have been teaching workshops in traditional Cretan weaving and natural dyeing as well exploring how this traditional domestic craft can be present in our lives today.
